How to install a wooden wall knob

Each wall knob comes with a large, sturdy 6 cm screw, 4 cm of which should go into the wall, plus a 10 mm wall plug – everything you need for installation.

Drill a hole using a 10mm drill bit (hss drill bit for hollow walls or masonry drill bit for solid walls). Make sure you are drilling straight.

Place your raw plug inside.

Hammer the raw plug gently into place.

Place your screw inside the raw plug.

Continue inserting the screw using a screwdriver (the Hex shank or the Torx head).

Twist the back of the wall knob onto the protruding screw.

Once the wall knob is secured tightly you can hang your things on it.

Now you know how to install a wall knob. The instructions solve one problem, but create a new one – stopping at just one wall knob is surprisingly difficult. Mix different colours and sizes across the wall and they start forming a geometric cloud. Officially, they are still there to hold your things. Unofficially, they begin to look suspiciously like a carefully designed wall decoration.
